I use a lot of those "quirky" words in my speech, some foreign and some outdated. a lot. I don't realize I'm doing it. I didn't even know taters was a non-American regional word? I grew up saying that and everybody in my family says it lol. Many words have been permanently engraved into my lexicon from so much exposure from books and tv and subculture so they are natural for me and I'm not saying them to be cool.

But I'm not trying to argue you or anything because I agree with you.
