i actually understand this one since she would have been a typical looking hot chick if she wasn't a brick.

er, yeah, me too.

i've seen people lust over cartoon ponies, anthropomorphic animals, and disembodied voices, but a lego? that's a first.

It's a slippery, slippery slope.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know I've seen grown men cream their pants over legos before.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Where can I find them? PLEASE TELL ME

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Have you been to a lego store before?

[personal profile] peablossom 2014-06-24 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just because you haven't stepped on her in the middle of the night as you try to go to the bathroom. Yet.

HAH!

I couldn't have lego when I was little because I would leave them out and my dad would step on them in the middle of the night. Should have cleaned up after myself.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-24 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
the way you phrased that is kinda hot actually

You go, OP.

And now I really want to buy the Lego movie sets and build all of the worlds.

I wish they had kept her with Batman.

I was kind of hoping for this as well. At least he wished them well and wasn't a douche about it.

Yeah, but the whole thing was so obviously thrown-together and pasted on... Hell, they probably could have made her be Batman's "adopted younger sister" or something and kept it almost the same, and thus avoided the pointless breakup.
Though in general guy-gets-the-girl-b/c-he's-main-character tends to grate on me.

I agree, it did seem tacked on last-minute. Would've been nice if they'd subverted that trope. Oh well, the rest of the movie is pretty awesome.

oddly, it didn't click with me so much. I expected it to be right up my alley, and found the trailer hilarious, but then somehow the movie itself was... idk, too obvious maybe? I just didn't really get into it. Ah well!

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, the movie was sort of generic overall. Some scenes were really amazing, but by the end I was like meh.

I'm not sure how old you are (from what I gather most people here are at least in their twenties?), but I know that among my group of friends (all in senior year of high school or their first two years of college), the movie really resonated because the conflict "everyone around me is so incredible and competent and I'm...me" feels super relatable to that age group.

But if you or anyone else is that age and didn't like it, then I guess different strokes.

Late twenties, and working towards academia.
Good point on relatability, though. I guess, being surrounded by people who are generally intelligent and competent, we don't really do that shtick... then again, I just found the plot pretty obvious and cheesy. It's a case where it just felt like a kids' movie, to me. Sometimes I can enjoy that stuff, in this case I just felt like it was not speaking to me at all.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
To be honest I think the point WAS that her and Batman didn't click. She was with Batman because he's who she thought she should want. And she really wasn't happy. I mean jesus I think we've all dated someone that we really wanted to click with and it just didn't.

Yeah her winding up with the main character was cliched but so was the whole movie? So I can kinda forgive one more cliche.

And the writers have said they went wrong put them together romantically instead of just being friends.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's "unbelievable" all right.
