This. He just doesn't do well-adjusted.

Of course context is significant when talking about feminism, but I think that Buffy is actually a strong enough character that you could consider her constantly needing a boyfriend as part of her characterization.

That, and everybody had relationship drama. It was kind of like a very dramatic sitcom with monster killing.

(general) You can't say that you want equal treatment and then get (general) your panties in a bunch when the female characters are just as screwed up as the male ones. Way to put the guy in a no-win situation.

Yeah. I have my gripes about Firefly and don't like how he dealt with some of the women there, but I didn't feel like the girls in Buffy got the short end of the stick, in terms of characterization. Wasn't the only one not constantly in and out of relationships Giles?

Even Giles had his share of relationships. Ms. Calendar, that British woman, the woman who hung around for a few episodes and then vanished (but was back for [spoiler]), Buffy's mom...

It's been a few years since I've seen the show so I can't remember the minor characters' names, sorry.

Well there was Jenny (who Angel killed), and that British chick in season 4.

I think Buffy wants to forget about the Band Candy fling Giles and Joyce had.
