Depends on the level of friendship

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I have several long term friends that have very opposite political views, but our friendship is so longstanding it's that type that there is very little chance of us ever drifting apart at this point.

But then newer friends or just not quite as good friends, yes. I will drop people if they have drastically different political views - mostly on very specific topics. I'm of an age where I have lost all patience to deal with this stuff.

Family, of course, is completely different. I just wish my family would keep their political views to themselves. I will always love them, but I'd really rather not know if they're a crazy tea partier or giant racist/sexist/bigot/etc.
