It's too hot out T_T It's nice and cool inside, but I'm out of food, and I'm sick of vending machine fare. So basically I have to either go grocery shopping in the skin-melting heat, or go late at night despite my paranoia. /firstworldproblems

Ha, I'm the late-night shopper by far. Fuck shopping during the day. It's a little spooky sometimes (especially when I first started doing it) but I find it to be infinitely preferable. Fewer people, less traffic, and I like nighttime a lot more anyway.

Those open-24-hours stores are king, man. KING. Sure, you may get the odd creep, but it is a small price to pay for the peace of shopping IN AN EMPTY STORE. No screaming kids wreaking havoc. No playing bumper cars with the shopping carts.

Late-night shopping is the best! Empty stores, no lines, no heat outdoors. I've never run into a creep.

Agreed. I was so disappointed when my local grocery store started closing at midnight. Between going to the store at 2am and self-scan registers, it was like heaven for those times when I didn't want to interact with people.

Maybe try going at night but invite someone to come with you? (If you know anyone who would be willing to go with you at night, lol. I wouldn't want to because I'm lazy and enjoy sleep...)
