So, are you just incapable of forming your own opinion without the artist telling you how to feel, or... ?
Do you need that kind of mental support from them?

Honestly, I don't see why this is an issue.
If you don't like artist / author comments, just ignore them.
Unless the author admits to like kicking puppies and eating babies, who gives a shit?

This sounds like more of your own personal issue, than any issue that the artist / author may have.
People rag on themselves. People have low self-esteem. People have anxiety and depression.
And it's not your place to police that, so get over yourself.
