Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
Nah I don't think I've been spoiled that much so you're good.
Yeah I saw it advertised on TV over here and I was like 'cool three more episodes, wait why hasn't it finished yet?' and then I found out that there were six episodes for series 2 and that made me happy. Riiick, Riiick and Kieran, they broke my heart last season, broke it to tiny pieces(and from what I can tell in series 2 I'm going to have my heart broken again). I'ma put some time in to catch up on it because I really did love the first series(and then I can like flail at people over it online).
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
I hope not! You can tumblr savior 'In the flesh spoilers' if you want and that should block them until you watch the series! It's too good to spoil.
Six episodes works so well for it. The three did too, but more In the Flesh can't be a bad thing, right? Especially since all the episodes are just as good. And heartbreaking. Still heartbreaking. Thanks for that, BBC.
I don't think I've cried so hard at anything in the past year (media wise, anyway) as I did with Rick. It floored me. I've seen a lot of cruel stuff in my time, but something about the way it happened...it almost took the cake, you know? Ugh. Poor Kieran...that boy can't catch a break. (We find ourselves saying this a lot, don't we? *cough*DerekHale*cough*)
Do! Catch up! Then come talk to me about it, because I have no one to speak about it with. It is tearing me up inside, lol.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
Ha I probably should before I catch up you are correct. Aye I thought the story was nicely condensed in three episodes last season but I am quite frankly not going to scoff attire of this TV show. Gimme it alllllll.
The BBC is here to fill your life with nothing but pain, it's how we Brits roll.
Oh god everything with Rick was just so painful, I actually said 'NO' really loud at the culmination to his story because I just did not want to accept it. Like why can't the characters I like get nice things? Why elaminator? :(
(Kieran deserves all the nice things. All of them.)
Well I certainly can't have you alone in your love for this show, I must catch up as soon as! Then we cry at each other.( we do this a lot...)
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
Most shows couldn't pull off three (or six, for that matter) episode seasons (or, well, series). Not sure how this show manages it so well.
The BBC is here to fill your life with nothing but pain, it's how we Brits roll.
NGL, it's starting to feel that way.
Rick didn't deserve his fate. Just thinking about Bill makes me want to punch something. Also weep. Punch something while weeping, basically. (The fact that so much of this show can be seen as a thinly veiled gay metaphor made it even worse. Especially given their relationship.) The only explanation for any of this is that we like pain.
Then we cry at each other.( we do this a lot...)
That we do... It's so satisfying, isn't it?
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
(Oh man I knoooooow, like I am so happy to have more but man Kieran's life sucks as it is, and all this means is that he'll be given even more pain but dammit I can't stop watching.)
Yeah I was surprised at how well the first season was paced, like it wasn't long but it didn't feel like anything was missing yanno? Which is hard to manage, so I am looking forward to watching six episodes this time.
Oh god I was so mad at Rick's fate, so mad(not at the TV show though because it was done brilliantly, but mad at Bill). Like his own son? I just, I really didn't want to believe it, for like ages after I saw that part I was like 'nope he's sleeping, he's just sleeping' because argh, it sucked.
I want to punch something while weeping, yup that is the perfect description for what this show causes in me.
I'm so glad I have you to vomit my feelings over TV show/movies with because otherwise I would be bereft.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
(Thankfully things look up a little for him by the end of the series. But holy shit does he go through hell to get there and things are still depressing. Poor Kieren. He's becoming a tough cookie, though.)
I have very rarely hated a character as much as Bill. I just couldn't process that someone could be so damn evil as to do that to their own child. It fucked with my head and heart. Rick deserved better. So did Kieren. God, Kieren's face when he walked home and saw him outside the garage... I assumed Bill would do something terrible, but to leave his dead son at Kieren's house like some kind of fucked up present after basically giving said son hope that he might finally be trying to understand him... That's just wrong.
We would both be, bb.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
(Elaaaaaaamminatooooooor...I'm on the second episode of season 2 and I already want to stab myself in the face with a spoon. Like fuck man. Fucking hell. It's not just Kieren's life either, I feel so sorry for Jem, I want to wrap her up in a blanket and just hug her. Also I kind of forever love Kieren's parents, they are gigantic goofballs. And Ammmmmyyyy, my undead ball of sunshine! Also I wasn't sure what to make of Simon but damn son, damn.
He has a sexy voice, fuck me. Um yes, there are many things I am liking, and I can't wait to see how it all culminates.)I feel you, I feel you so hard. Like it was so horrifically brutal what he did, he hugs his son and I think 'yay he's learning' and then when Kieren finds him at his house I just, no. NOPE. I fucking cheered when Ken shot him, cheered I tell you, and I would cheer again.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
I don't want to say too much and spoil you, but I liked Jem's story in series two a lot. There were things about her that frustrated me, but she was treated extremely realistic and the show explored PTSD beautifully. Kieren's parents are the best, though, again, I don't want to say too much... there's a moment in the finale (you'll know when you get there) that killed me. Ugh. Amy is so damn funny and lovable; I swear she gets funnier and more lovable with every episode, it's insane. She's perfect. And Simon...I am kind of in love with Simon despite everything. Isn't he gorgeous? (The first time I saw him I was so confused as to how a zombie could be so stupidly attractive. He does have a nice voice!) He's weirdly charismatic even when he's totally wrong. I grew extremely attached to him. And his relationship with Kieren is kind of amazing and...different, haha.
I was too traumatized to cheer, but the second time I watched the episode I fist pumped through my tears. Bill deserved it (and so much more, tbh). It was particularly sweet that Ken was the person to off him, considering the unspeakable way he killed Ken's wife. :( That broke me too.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
I was pretty fond of Jem in season one, and I love her and Kieren's relationship it's sweet, so I'm liking how they're dealing with her issues. They really are, I love them, adorable middle-aged goofs. Yeah Amy is wonderful and I always loved how outspoken and bold she is. I'd only seen stills of him before so I wasn't sure what to make of him but hearing him speak and interact with others is like... fucking hell why am I finding an undead dude strangely attractive(but then Kieren is a fucking cutie with make-up or au natural so idk brain, you're fucked).
I was sort of cheering and making upset noises at the same time, it was a weird combination. Yeah it was really fitting that Ken was the one to do it, what they did to his wife was awful(and seeing him after just sitting in his chair staring listlessly at everything was so sad).
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
I really love Jem and Kieren's relationship...when she isn't treating him like crap, lol. And I get that she's been through some impossible things and couldn't cope so she doesn't always handle situations the best, including interactions with her brother, but it does hurt sometimes. Oh, show... Oh, Jem. She'll get better, though.
Amy has very little fear! Or, well, more accurately hides her fear behind a bold front. Still, I find her cheer and bravery admirable. And she's so sweet and forgives so easily...I love that about her. She's got a huge heart.
Haha, yea. Simon is more hot imo and Kieren is just pretty as hell. They're both extremely good looking in different ways. I actually think they both look better without make-up though, so...uh...IDK what that says about me. Something odd, I guess. What can you even do? There is no use denying the undead attraction. (Did you see Simon without his shirt yet? I forget what episode that's in. God, I'm not sure I've ever been so disgusted with myself for being turned on...considering things.)
;_; Ken. I can't believe what they did to him in opener, too. Espeically after he was trying to be a good human being and stand up for PDS sufferers, and then he gets killed by a group of them. That's life, but fuck is it cruel. What a startling way to begin the season.
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
Oh yeah she's not exactly handling it healthily imo(and from what I've seen so far), like she's doing her best but it's very muddled and I do hope she finds someone who can help her.
Oh yes, she has a brave front and acts like she doesn't give a shit but we know she does, it's endearing.
I haven't seen Simon with make-up on yet so idk about how he looks, but yeah he looks fine atm. Kieren is unfairly pretty, it's rude and he needs to stop(no he doesn't). (I've seen his naked back and um... I may be keeping the memory of his shoulders moving as he puts his shirt on close to hand. Do we get to see more? If so, eeeeeeeeeee. It's okay we're just bad people).
Noooooo, don't remind me. He's not dead, he's living with his grandson and his wife in the city and they're all very happy and nothing bad happens to them ever again. :(
Re: A few X-Men: Days of Future Past (not TOO new, but) & In the Flesh
Poor Amy, not having any family. :( If she still had family she probably never would've felt the need to leave. Kieren is lucky.
BTW, how nice are the PDS sufferers hair? Like, most of them have full, pretty hair, and clear (if pale as fuck) skin...how do they look so good? They look better than me. It just seems unfair to die and STILL be drop dead gorgeous. This show has model!zombies, haha. (Yes, I felt so grossed out by myself for checking out Simon's back and shoulders. I bet that was half the point, but with that huge wound down his spine...damn. Not a great moment to be attracted, self. And IIRC there is no more. Which is unfortunate, or maybe fortunate, I don't know which. At least Amy was feeling the same way!)
:(
At least he can be with his wife in death, right? He's probably still happy... *sobs*
