This. And on what people like. You know, I tried the big literature. Turns out I'm not so fond. I prefer short stories, and fanfic is like an eternal free supply o short stories.

Not trying to say you shouldn't read fanfic, but you do know that there are published short stories too, right? Like, loads and loads of them.

Sure, and I read a bunch of them, it's just that fanfic is pretty accessible and in many ways gives me the same joys.

Same here. Unless I find it really engaging, if something is longer than 300 pages, it's not gonna keep my attention.

I don't like lengthy TV series, either. Give me a nice, contained story with a defined story arc and a clear ending that wraps everything up.
