It's completely insane. Spain out, Portugal out, Italy out, England out - I don't even now what's going on anymore. And then you have teams like Costa Rica and Switzerland advancing to the knock-out stages. Where did they even come from? At least with USA there was some inclination, but Costa Rica was completely left field.

And with Suarez out of the game, Uruguay probably won't stay long, either. He really was their best player, which makes his biting even more stupid than it would have been on its own. WHY do footballer do shit like this? It only hurts them and their team.

soccer is the cultural pastime in costa rica tho, like a lot of central american countries

I'm sure it is, but CR has just never really been on the radar in previous World Cups, you know? They just kind of swooped in this year and went to the knock-out stages undefeated. And let's just say that between Italy, Uruguay and England, Costa Rica wasn't exactly the most likely candidate to finish first in their group.

At this point I suspect it's a habbit for Suarez. Huh, Italy's out too? I wanted to watch Prandelli in action. *sigh*
