In that context, why does it make more sense for them to be cis than to be trans? It's as much of a leap to presume that a trio of test tube babies would leap out of the chemical seethe that birthed them equipped with breasts and vaginae as it is to presume they'd come out with penises.

Well, the professor did set out to specifically create young girls and created a formula that would ensure this, so it makes sense that they came out as biologically female. On the other hand, I guess it could also be possible that the formula was kind of screwy (even aside from the superpowers thing) and ended up giving one of them different physical characteristics. If anything though, I think it's possible that they had some ambiguous or otherwise unusual genitalia since they already looked kind of odd when compared to other children on the show.

Yeah, I always kind of wondered how similar physically they were to other children on the show since they were shown to have gigantic eyes and a distinct lack of fingers which isn't something we saw on the other children.
