By that logic wouldn't have sex with anyone that has features that are usually confined to a separate species be bestiality? Having sex with Spider Man would be bestiality.

Yes, but from what I've read (as I said, it's not a lot), the behaviors are completely removed from human mating behavior, between the imperative to mate (Omegas are ferrets!), the knotting, and the common feature of pain as part of the bonding process. If the sex with Spiderman involved Spidey ejaculating onto a wall and then picking it up to manual shove it into Mary Jane's vagina (or performing auto-fellatio on himself and then going down on her) then, yes, that would have bestial connotations. If his penis is going through her vulva into her vagina and thrusting back and forth then it's still human sex, even if she's tied up with his silk at the time or something similar.

Anyway, I have no horse in this race. But I do see how, seeing as traits were obviously borrowed from animal reproduction for the ABO universe, someone could think it was bestial in nature.

The thing about a/b/o is that it's a combination of kinks, none of which are bestiality. The mating thing is basically sex pollen. The knotting thing is related to all alien-genital fics before it. I've also never seen the pain aspect, but even if I had, that's probably the thing that's the least removed from human behavior, considering sadomasochism is a real-life thing.

Any time someone says a/b/o is bestiality, all it really tells me is they don't know enough about the kink to even complain properly.

"The knotting thing is related to all alien-genital fics before it. "

Eh, I don't know, anon, I have seen several a/b/o fans investigating and discussing about canine anatomy because they wanted to get the details ~right~

And that was the moment I decided to avoid a/o/b fics not matter what.

That's interesting, but really no different from a discussion I saw about possible Vulcan penises as related to tentacles (and, in one special occasion, fish. Or cats, which is more alarming than the knotting thing in my opinion.) Alien penises are still generally based on some real-life thing.

On that note, I'd like to bring up anyone/Spock, from Star Trek. If we're basing our bestiality complaints on different species having different junk, exactly 1000% of fics make those pairings bestiality.

And vulcans have different mating practices.
