I don't remember it being just implied-- it's typical Anne Rice purple prose bullshit but Marius definitely "shot Amadeo's arrow off" in the bath right after they met.

...I read that book when I was like 13 and that scene has stuck with me for the last decade and a half ._.

I genuinely love it. Now I want to read those books. But then I am the sort of person who once made a list of all the euphemisms for sexual organs in Fanny Hill (there were dozens! they were fantastic!).
