I think you lack any knowledge of, like, the entire history of pretty much the whole world's mythologies and literature. Cliffnotes' version: the 'I hate you but I want to sex you through powerful instincts I don't control' storyline has existed forever (secret: the "powerful instinct" is horniness) and weird human/shifter/animal sex stories have been around for a while as well.
