They're doing that IN ADDITION to providing a free AVI file, though.

How is that 'dramatic'? That's encouraging people with funds to have a reason to purchase a DVD they otherwise couldn't. Isn't that...a good thing?

They are basically saying that only rich people deserve to watch a HD version of the movie (importing DVDs is extremely expensive, especially if you live in a developing country).

I don't mind when companies like CR do it, watch the low quality version free, pay for the HD, they own the show after all. But in this case, they don't have any right to impose this on other fans.

Okay, I'm... I'm sorry. I can totally understand pirating media if you can't afford it. But... seriously, if we're talking about non-HD video vs. HD video? Then yes. The HD can be the little extra bonus you gotta pay for WTF. I may feel that access media is the right of all sentient beings, but I am drawing the line at HD video is the right of all sentient beings. Fuck off, that is entitlement.
