They're not going to make a new Reading Rainbow show. They're going to take the existing Reading Rainbow app and expand its available platforms so that it can be used in schools, and they're going to provide supplies on top of that.

There's something new being filmed though. Saturday's Kickstarter email showed him filming a new "field trip" segment in the Grand Canyon.
