Well his face hasn't changed. But the hair can make a lot of difference to some people. Blonde is more his colour, and the shortness of it makes him look less emaciated, if that makes sense. It's like, if he has a great deal of dark hair, the rest of his face seems smaller and less healthy, also he seems much paler, in what looks like a sickly sort of way to me.
Not that the difference is very great, but it is there.

I grew up fairly well aware of the idea of certain colours suiting people better than others. Maybe the problem with BC is that he is of a Spring or Autumn, while the dark hair is more the colouring of a Winter. I have been told I simply can't dye my hair blond because I would look terrible with it (I'm a Summer who verges on the edge of being Winter), so BC may be the flip-side of that.
