I saw some better animated, leaked parts of the first episode- with squeeing and cheering fan reactions in the background.

Not gonna lie, the enthusiasm of friends about this is what makes me interested in the first place, I never watched the original. so yeah, I get why you would ignore it otherwise. the trailer doesn't look like much.
