I once dated two Ryans at the same time.

So back in the first half of the 20th century, it was a cliche to claim/joke about housewives having affairs with the milkman (or the iceman, hence the "iceman cometh") while the husband was at the office, and the wife one day calling the husband by the milkman's name in bed. Apparently there was once a running joke that my maternal grandfather would never know for sure because he and the local milkman were both named Frank.

My mom's side of the family has a weird habit of dating/marrying people with the same names as other relatives.

Like my cousin married someone with the same name as her brother. And my aunt and my mom are both married to guys with the same name. And my other cousin married a guy with the same name as that same aunt's ex. It's a little strange.

All of the guys my one friend has dated or been pursued by or crushed on have had names that started with J.

Were they all call Henry? You should stop before there's 8 of'em.

Maybe go for a Willy or a Sam.

Doesn't sound that unusual to me. You can (usually) get someone's ethnicity from their name, and depending on the demographic of wherever you live, you might just happen to meet a lot of white guys named Steve or Spanish guys named Rubén or something. Maybe you just have a type.

Ha, this reminds me of my former best friend. She ended up having a crush on every single guy named Matt that she ever met at one point or another. And there were quite a few Matts in our school.

My father was married three times. His wives were named Margaret, Marguerite, and Margaret.
