"Personal sycophantsphere" is such a good description. Yeah, sometimes it's nice for me to have an echo chamber to support me (my personal journal on LJ has this function), but I feel like I NEED to have it counterbalanced by honest discussion and different opinions that challenge me and make me think about the strength of my argument. When I post an opinion, I don't want it to be like I'm blasting it through a megaphone. I want it to be like I'm telling it calmly to a person next to me, who might have the complete opposite opinion.
