And both of them were well over 4000 years before. A lot of water under the proverbial bridge since then, including frosty relations with Lothlorien after the balrog, long before even the situation with Thranduil.

Plus some of the older Sindar Elves probably still hold unreasonable grudges about Thingol's death ('unreasonable because the dwarves involved were not Durin's Folk).

Secret said "Ages", and Celebrimbor & Narvi were mid-Second Age; this is late-ish Third Age. So, not even two Ages.

Are you saying 4000 is too long? You do know the Ages averaged around 3000 years each? The Third Age ended in 3019. Plus Ost-In-Edhil fell a good number of year before the end of the Second Age - SA 1697 while the end of the Age didn't come until 3441, when the War of the Last Alliance ended.

I checked the numbers a couple of months ago for a time-travel plot for RP.
