The going-slow thing is a bit annoying. I'm still reading, but I just bookmark whatever page I left it on, leave it alone for a couple of months, and then catch up again. Rinse and repeat.

I don't think Tarvek's dead. Well, depending on when the time stop came into effect relative to the effect of the poison. But. Probably not dead.

I hope not, anyway. I love the squirrelly little schemer. Him, Klaus, Moloch, Violetta, Axel, Zeetha and Mama Gkika are my favs, with Da Boyz in behind them.

That's the problem with a webcomic that has a huge cast and only updates three times a week. The best thing to do is step away from it for a while and then read like hell to catch up.

I seriously doubt they've killed off Tarvek.

I've sort of fallen off checking webcomics daily; I'll let it go for a while and then archive-binge to catch up on one. I think that strategy might suit you well here, since it'd give you a decent chunk of plot to read at once.

I read this back when it was a printed comic and after a few issues I wanted to shriek, "Where is this going!" I kept on for a while online but somewhere in the middle of the endless castle I couldn't take it any more. I was sad, because it had such promise.

Nah, Tavek is also a favorite of both Phil and Kaja, I seriously doubt that he's dead. Timefrozen? sure, but not dead.

Regarding the pacing... the thing is that it's a long form comic, that updates three days a week. I got seriously bored and thinking the story was too long back when the mutlicolored sickness was introduced, so I stopped checking it daily. Then, last week I decided to reread the whole thing from the beginning... and I read it all in less than two days. The 'omg this is soo slow' part? Went like a breeze. And I got hooked again. So yeah, maybe a reading hiatus would be good for you too.

On the flipside, I tried to archive binge it once years ago, and I got bored with the slow pacing before I'd even finished the binge. (Part of the problem was that the only character I actually cared about was Agatha--I got bored at a point when she was incapacitated and didn't look like she'd be back in action anytime soon.)

No way is Tarvek dead. I don't just say this out of affection, but that it would make no sense whatsoever to fridge him.

I agree, it's a bit slow since the time-jump, but I feel like it's starting to get back to a reasonable pace again.

How can anyone read this?? The character art is so ugly...

Mega Tokyo was a popular webcomic. Homestuck is arguably the most popular webcomic.

It's not that hard to suck at art and still gain a following.

Agreed. I don't really think Tarvek is dead and even if he is I think they're going to save him. So there's that lol

The pacing of the story itself is fine (though definitely not perfect), it's just really not built for the one-page-per-update webcomic format, which makes sense, since it started as a print comic.

It's one of my favorite comics, but I only actually read it a few times a year when I decide to catch up on the last big chunk.
