The thing is, a lot of the people who so aggressively latch onto trans headcanons nowadays are not actually trans people who want representation, it's cis girls who think they're being so ~progressive~ by following the newest trend. And they are the ones trying to silence actual trans people by telling them "this is not what being trans is". And it sucks.

I also feel like people seriously overestimate the amount of trans people in this world. Yes, a step onto tumblr or some choice LGBTQ+ platforms may make you think that the world is full of trans people, but it's really just a teensy tiny percentage. I understand that there should be some representation of trans people in media and I agree with that. But how would it be realistic (for lack of a better word) to have every media teeming with trans people when there actually aren't that many of them in RL?
