No, I think I agree with the others. While series Spock could be incredibly intense, especially when it came to his loyalties (witness him hijacking the Enterprise to help Pike), he also had a much milder, more curious air about him. The scientist thing, maybe, he just found so many things fascinating and strange, and poked fun at them in that incredibly dry, sarcastic way of his. When his emotions broke, they broke bad, but outside of those moments he did have an air of mildly sardonic peace about him.
