You should give the show a try! The movie is shit, but the show is fantastic - memorable characters, an interesting and well-executed plot, humor and drama balanced at just the right levels, beautiful animation - it's just all around fun.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. I would say it's the best American cartoon of the last 20 years, at least.

I've heard so much good about it that I don't doubt it's excellent, its just...long. Isn't TLA about 60 episodes? And isn't Korra on its third season, now?

I like the idea of Avatar, but there's so much to catch up on...

(And tbh, I'm mostly interested in Korra herself because she's sexy. Yes, I'm vain. Also the bending powers look cool, but...that's a lot of episodes and it isn't on Netflix. :/ Netflix has disappointed me a lot as of late. *sigh*)

Maybe I'll still get around to it some day, though! I'd like to.

Well, the episodes are only about twenty minutes apiece, so you can breeze through three of them in like an hour. But I do understand, five seasons of a show, even if Korra has shorter seasons, is a bit of a time investment. I think if you just start watching, though, you'll catch up pretty quickly.

I just can't recommend the show enough, though. I want everyone to love it and boo that shitty movie out of existence.

20 minutes? Wow, those are some short episodes. Huh.

I'll think about it, at any rate! I WOULD like to know what the fuss is about.

it's about the length of most half hour shows when you factor in commercials. they're actually more like 21-22 minutes long though

Yea, that's true. I totally forgot that commercials take that big of a chunk of time. I haven't watched any cartoons or half hour shows live in a long, long time; usually fast forward through everything on my DVR so I tend to forget how long commercials are.
