Pirating fanart in the same way that people pirate media would be saving a copy to my hard drive to look at whenever I want without buying a print or giving the site hits or whatever (only fan artists may not care much if people save their work for their own personal use as desktop backgrounds or whatever). Changing it and posting the changed version is a different thing.
