whenever I see something that really excites me I stay away from the hype and analysis until it's out. I'm going to have to try it for myself as soon as I'm technically able anyway- might as well go in fresh!

Same. Knowing people are excited doesn't affect me so much as getting excited myself. Sure there's the stuff that will creep in either through fandom osmosis or coming across information by accident, but it's usually out of context that it's meaningless.

I want to get hyped for it, but past lessons have made me lower my expectations for games that promise too much. I really hope it is what it seems to be without many issues. I'd love to play it one day, but not day 1.

Ya know what? I'm gonna be hella hyped for it. I've started telling others about it too, like my coworker that games. Even if it doesn't meet expectations, the idea behind it is incredible.
