I fucking hate these things so much because my little sister will interrupt me from whatever I'm doing to make me take one of them.

She'll go, "HEY HEY HEY if you were standing in front of a bank, what do you do?" And then she'll proceed to read me the choices in a slow enough voice I already forget the previous one. Not that I would enjoy these anymore if I could just take the phone and put the answers in my self to get it over with, but she does this in such a trolly way that she refuses to tell what the quiz is for, even when the leading questions give it away.

I just, I can't deal with these things. Do you know what it's like to be driving, and then she calls you to ask you a "question"? Oh hey, look I'm cooking a meal that requires a lot of attention, and she sneaks up behind me to ask what seat on a plane I prefer. Fuck you, Zimbiiiiioooooooo >:U

What is your sister and why is she real.

I don't take them often, but eh, once in a while they can be fun! (NGL, usually when bored; never think to do them otherwise.)

I love doing them too, if only because after the first attempt I like to see if I can skew them to get certain characters.

Ariel, MLP and Transformers... hmm, I'd say that it means that you like legs and fighting. 40% answered the same. Was this result true?

I do these tests when I'm blue and stressed. I choose surveys like Briggs Mayers or Lusher. I think your tests are better - they are more colourful and there's no 'go to shrink asap' result.

Meyers-Briggs is the best.

what's your MB type?

[personal profile] solticisekf 2014-07-11 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Some kind of ENTP apparently. I'm not sure if I trust these tests.

Did you read the description? I think M-B, while obviously not perfect and not specific since there are myriad variations on human personalities, does give a pretty good overview. Mine is about 90% spot-on for me.

I'm an ESFJ, to answer your question below.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2014-07-11 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm between ENTP and ENFP. I'm not very good at either.)
I've looked up your type coz I don't remember all 16 types and, strangely, I feel like I know you better now, though I agree that it's not specific. I have a few online friends who are into M-B types and they've applied it to their relationships with positive results.

Interesting. I went back and re-read it, and yeah, a lot of it is spot-on, but the part of it that isn't is not merely "meh, not really me" but completely opposite of the way I am. Notably, the assessment I just went and read (which may or may not be complete or firsthand) said that ESFJs try to find a role that reflects traditional gender roles and will come across as very masculine (for men) and very feminine (for women). But I have been closer to "neutral" than "feminine" on the sliding scale of gender expression for pretty much as long as I can remember. I'm more feminine that you used to be, but I sort of abhor traditional gender roles, especially in relationships. Or well, not so much the roles, but I abhor any expectation that I should fill them, and I'm not a traditionally feminine person when it comes to relationships.

tl;dr most of mine is accurate but some of it is waaaay off

[personal profile] solticisekf 2014-07-11 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Imo, a lot of these descriptions are based on experiences of people who write them. And they're all different. For example I didn't see anything about gender roles in your type description. Some of thouse descriptions are quite old.)

Types are way too radical. I think we're all in the middle somewhere. It's like stating that people who're shorter then statistical average, let's say 5.2' are short, and the rest are tall, where in reality you'd say that most people are in the middle.

I mean it's true: there are more than 16 personalities in the world. We're all really, really different.

However, I do think M-B has some accuracy to it since it asks questions that really get down to the way you function, and most peoples' responses will be accurate at least in the sense of an overview of your personality. Some facets will vary.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2014-07-12 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It may be a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy, where people act according to their type. I think I don't see a point in it? A person may discover something new about thyself via these tests, but how much this info can be trusted. I like M-B anyway. )
I think your type sounds awesome with 'helps everyone'. :D

Oh, I don't know, I usually forget exactly what the results say until I go back and read them again.

I don't take these tests to self-diagnose and try to change my life or behavior according to them. I honestly just take them for fun.

There was a DnD alignment question in the GC a while back. I did a couple hundred of these over the course of that week (productivity was not had).
