It's a fun ride, but it's definitely not a must-do for me. It's definitely not worth the 70+ minute wait it often has at Epcot, too.

I loooove Soarin'!

It's definitely one of my favorite rides. I actually like California Adventure as a whole tbh. It's a really relaxing park. Less crowded and overstimulating than Disneyland can be.

Haven't been on the Cars ride yet, but when my mother says it's really fun when she doesn't really like stuff like the Matterhorn or Space Mountain, that tells me it must be good. Anyway, I agree with you that Soarin' is definitely the best ride in California Adventure (though the swings are fun as well as the ferris wheel cars that swing), but not the best ride of both, since the best ride at Disneyland is probably the Indiana Jones ride (though I love most of them).

I like it, but I'm the weirdo whose favorite attraction at Epcot is Club Cool.

This made me laugh and I love it.

Eh, maybe not THAT weird...only if your favorite flavor is Beverly. Then we'll have to talk :)

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know a single person who has tried Beverly and legit liked it. It's even discontinued, except at Club Cool and World of Coca Cola!

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
I've developed the acquired taste for it! I love it now.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
I have the World of Coke 20 minutes from me, so Club Cool sort of pales in comparison. They have so few flavors!

Ain't give much of a damn about the Disney theme parks these days, but that is a really well-done poster.

My friends call it Borin'. I think it's okay, but I get way more emotional value with Racers.

I love Soarin' and have ridden it every time I've been to Disneyland! The wait times are always outrageous, but it's so worth it. I have to say I like Radiator Springs Racers more, but I know what you mean about the emotional reaction.

Soarin' is completely fantastic, so there's no shame in this. Mission Space is my favorite, but I adore Soarin'.

Haven't been on Racers yet though.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I completely agree. (Well, Space Mountain is pretty high up as well - it's one of the most exhilarating rides for me.)

But both of those are the only rides I try to do multiple times on a single visit. With Fastpasses it's completely doable for Soarin' if you get there early enough, or at least it was last time I was in Epcot (last year).

My family's totally early-start, well-planned Disney freaks though, haha.

[personal profile] sachiko_san 2014-07-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I read on the Disneyland subreddit that some people don't realize that Epcot's Soarin' is just California.

[personal profile] kayleen_san 2014-07-11 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
That...makes me sad

[personal profile] sachiko_san 2014-07-11 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. People thought the desert parts were Arizona or Nevada, I can't remember which.

[personal profile] kayleen_san 2014-07-11 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Soarin' is great...if you can get a Fastpass. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth the wait. But I also didn't care too much for the original Test Track (going this fall, so I'll have to see how they revamped it).

Honestly, I rather spend the wait time in EPCOT going around World Showcase <3

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Soarin' over California makes me cry; I'm Californian born and raised, and even though my state drives me crazy sometimes, seeing it portrayed so beautifully on the ride along with the soaring (heh) background music...I can't help getting teary-eyed and loving my state again.
So I feel you, OP. It's definitely one of the best rides Disney has come up with.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
You kiddin'? There's a reason it has the longest lines in the parks, because people adore it! They love it better than the thrill rides--not everyone, of course, but enough people to make it one of the most popular rides of all.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
this isn't an uncommon opinion at all, it's one of the most popular rides ever

they're re-shooting a new version of it w/ new music so hopefully it'll keep its emotional resonance

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder if they will have the old version of the ride as well, didn't they do that with Star Tours?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-11 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
no and no

(Anonymous) 2014-07-23 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Really late to the party, but I'll never go on Soarin' because it occupies Kitchen Kabaret's old spot at Epcot. Kitchen Kabaret was one of the best parts of my childhood, and I consider the fact that not even its facade remains to be akin to sacrilege.
