About the second part, I think the issue is that movies with male protagonist don't have to be "first" about anything in order to be appreciated.

Well, all the other movies are appreciated as well, just not as 'the first'.

Except, the way certain parts of the internet go about it, "the first" is like the MOST IMPORTANT THING." That's the difference between female lead movies and the male lead ones.
