What's your element?

[personal profile] feotakahari 2014-07-10 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Just something I thought of after playing some video games where every character had an affinity for fire or water or whatever. Don't take this seriously.

For me . . . I know this is cliche, but I'd have to say darkness. I love starlight, I love full moons, and I love the way shadows look at sunset. My concept of whether something is beautiful has a lot to do with the shadows around it. (This makes it hard to get in the mood for horror games--the shadows are supposed to scare me, but they feel like a comforting place to hide and not be seen.)

Probably earth? Maybe? Not sure what the real traits are, but in general I'm pretty even keeled and unemotional except when it comes to prejudice and human rights issues. Then I get pissed.

i'd have to say air, because i love airplanes (so many people are scared of flying but i can't get enough of it), and i love the wind (except when it's blowing sand into my face). i particularly like that whistling sound it makes.

I'm a fire sign in just about all astrological matters and I like fire a lot but what I feel most connected to is wind. I love wind, the sound of it in the trees and everything. I hate it when there is not even the slightest bit of a breeze.

Apparently water, according to the Chinese zodiac, which actually makes me super happy?

Literally my main goal in life is to someday live at a beach, that would be my favorite thing in life. Plus my favorite myths/fairytales all tend to center around oceans/water/etc. And I wanted to be a mermaid so bad as a kid okay?.

Dark, because I am hyper sensitive to light and the cold of night suits me better. Plus, my best dreams involved the night sky and me basicly being able to look at the night and see it in such detail I could make out the planets and I am in space.

Consequently, I am a bit hard to please when it comes to starry skies. It doesn't help that I was raised in a small village that could easily have the least light pollution in the entire country.

Probably water. I love being in the water almost as much as I love being on my horse. I love living near the beach (though I hate my specific town) and I hate being land-locked. If I'm ever able to move somewhere else, it will definitely have to be somewhere close to the ocean. Also, I've spent most of my life living on the edge of a swamp, which I spent a good portion of my childhood exploring. Good times, good times.

Water or earth, probably.

Air. Without a doubt. Wind, sky, dreams of flying, love of airplanes, feeling most at peace in open air, loving thunderstorms, throwing up my coat in high wind to be caught by it. If I get to pick any element, it'll be air, every time.

Fire. I have the exact cliche hot-headed temperament to go with it as well it's not even funny.

Lightning. Which is/can be an element in some games.

I don't really hold much stock in astrology and related affinities, but if I had to pick it would sincerely be lightning. I love thunderstorms. And, if anyone wants to get technical, my birthday puts me between air and water, and it's said that the conflict between air and water is what causes ions to charge inside clouds and create lightning.

Definitely water. I would stay in water all the time if I could. I love swimming, I love baths, I love rain. I was also born in two amniotic sacks, so when my mom's "water" broke and she went to the hospital they were like, "Uh your water's not broken..." They had to break the second one by hand. XD

Air. I love flying, and birds, and planes, and traveling, and briefly visiting people and then being gone with the wind.

Growing up I would have said fire all the way, but water and earth have really grown on me as I've gotten older. I still think I'd say fire though based on habit.

Water. I just feel this really deep connection to it. I love the rain, I love the ocean, I love lakes and rivers and streams and ponds and puddles. Misty mornings and dew on grass makes me happy, and I spend forever in showers and baths. Just, I generally find water really, really comforting, and would always chose it over all other elements. I like to blame it on my being a Pisces.

I always say that if I was a Pokemon trainer, I'd be one of those plant-type trainers with an army of plant pokemon. And then there's the thing where I'm inexplicably drawn to trees, to the point where the Seiken Densetsu games almost bring me to tears just because of their sheer beauty and the basic concept of God-as-tree. So plants specifically, which if you go down to the four basic elements generally gets lumped in with "earth".

Fire. From being passionate and emotionally-driven, to having a fear of drowning and not liking the top of my head covered, a lot of my personality really lines up with fire. I'm also a fire sign in the Western zodiac, if that matters.

Re: What's your element?

Choosing on my own? Air. I love flying, I love wind, and thunderstorms. I've also been told I'm a ~natural teacher~/very book smart which is something traditionally associated with air.

For laughs, I'm also an Aquarius which is an air sign [but has nothing to do with my answer.] If you want to go with the Chinese zodiac, I'm supposed to be fire...and I can have a little bit of a temper sometimes so I could see going that way.

Probably Ground, I guess? ...Wait, sorry, I mean Earth. Too much Pokemon.

In games, though, I turn into a TOTAL pyromaniac - getting the upgraded Fire Rod was my favourite part in A Link Between Worlds and I do like using Fire-types in Pokemon - although don't really have a 'fire' personality and am actually kind of scared of it, heh.

I know my record in RP and video games tends a lot towards fire. I have two OCs (who are mother and daughter) who control a special kind of fire. My RP silmarils control a special kind of fire too. I have a great fondness for knocking out groups of enemies in Dragon Age by having my Warden cast Fire Storm.

On the other hand the element I would like to think I'd be more in tune with is, as odd as it sounds, Arcane. I will say those fire-user RP characters and OCs, they are all very arcanely powerful characters. I also tend greatly towards playing mages, even if I commonly dual- or multi-class them as fighters (DA allows mages to wield light weapons anyway, including swords and crossbows). It's not so much the fire as the fact that my characters can use magic on a whole. Fire is just a good ballistic spell.

But in reality I would probably be some slow and staid, like Earth.
