Underdog loser guy who saves the world and gets the girl. It's not even just the winning of sex prizes, it's the over played hero thing. All he ever needed was a disastrous situation to show them all what an actual useful member of society he is by bestest at rising to the occasion /barf
subvert it by stop writing it.

Stoic and brooding anime cool guys that are apparently swoon worthy and apparently have so much presence that everyone shuts the fuck up so they can drop the wicked burns. Can everyone other than the emotionally unstable angry foil dude acknowledge what a bore that quiet asshole is? Make him work for acknowledgement because a lack of social skills really doesn't work that way. At least have the canon make fun of them or show them as secret derps. Better yet, actually make me believe they're cool.
