Ah…Dean. Okay, I can now put a name to his generically pretty face (no offense to fans of the character but unless I start watching the show he's just going to be generically pretty dude to me).

I think I can see where this is going…

Does "Macho Womanizing Straight American Man" go through women like they're drinks during happy hour and he's looking to get plastered?

Does he also have a deep, emotional, long-term bond with another pretty man?

If so…I can totally see why the fans would prefer to believe he wants the dude to whom he's devoted.

If they're just throwing two random hot guys that barely interact, though, I'm going to back away slowly...

He has extremely deep emotional long term bonds with multiple pretty men. So yeah, it totally makes sense that fans would put them together. The problem is that they say it's canon, despite the fact that there's not really any evidence of that.

I don't get wanting it to be canon personally. It would probably be fudged up and less interesting.

Especially when all of those deep emotional long term bonds are extremely dysfunctional and not romantic at all.

Except those bonds aren't romantic. One major one is with a largely asexual and naive-about-humans angel possessing another dude's body, and the other major one is his little brother.

Correction, asexual angel who has sex with women if he is human.

He also has deeper connections with some of the women. He even lived with one for a year and helped raised her child and was faithful to her. So it's more that the dangers of his job keep him from having any real relationship with a woman.
