I fucking love making mix tapes, and we end up talking about music on here enough that I think there might be enough people to make this happen.

How I'm imagining this working is that everybody gets paired up with one other person, you make a mix tape/playlist on 8track or whatever, and then send them the link. They would then give you feedback (anything from "this was great, I really liked track 2" to detailed track-by-track reviews) and hopefully also send you a mix to review. Alternatively, everybody could just post links in general chat when they're done and people could review it there. I don't mind running it if we need someone to pair up usernames.

Sounds like fun to me! I like sharing music... especially old stuff, folk music, old-school game music... oddball stuff. If that's okay... =)

dude, in actual RL swaps I have received things like entire CDs full of Finnish pop and metal, Anime Theme Song Power Hour, someone's high school playlist, and something titled "sure hope you like acoustic guitars." my outgoing cds tended towards "when you said you liked everything except rap and country, you were wrong and here's why," or 90 minutes of classical and instrumental music. No shame in being weird, the whole point is to send out the best songs nobody's ever heard of.

I want to but some of my tastes people would laugh at.

I have no problems with bubblegum pop as long as it's bubblegum pop I've never heard before! You should definitely join if you want to.

Of course I also like the show tunes, some Alternative, some slight country my interests are all over the place. I tend to like the song and not care about the rep of the artist. (Like everyone jokes about how Nickleback is the worst thing in the world, and I'm just like "I like Savin' Me *sadface*)"

Dude, I love early 2000s pop and Nickelback! No shame. No shame whatsoever.
