I think the thought behind it is nice but the dialogue is just so, so unnatural sounding. It's like when I'm reading a fanfic where one of the characters suddenly goes on a soap box rant about aromantic asexuals or demiromantics or something. It pulls me out of the story a bit

Can I get a link to one of them, I really must see this.

I backbuttoned whenever I saw it and don't have any of them bookmarked but a few of them were definitely from the Sherlock fandom and had a very heavy handed message about Sherlock being asexual (occasionally demiromantic). One of them even had Harry and Sherlock team up to lecture John about respecting others' sexuality. It was kind of hilarious

I was just reading a fic like that. Pretty good fic over all, loved the theme, and suddenly one of the characters finds that the other has a book about asexuality and the second character spends the rest of the chapter EDUCATING the reader.

Yeesh, lady author, I came here for a cool plot and a cute romance, not a PSA.

Having just read this one page (maybe the rest is better, idk), I agree. I think the message is nice, and it's certainly sweet, but...not sure about the dialogue.

Why anyone would want to wank about it though, I just don't know.

Yeah, that is what I was immediately reminded of. It's well meaning, but really isn't good writing.

... Why is squirrel girl (I completely forget her name, it's been so long since I read this comic) the one who know this, anyways? I mean, genderqueer is mostly used on the internet now a days and I don't think she ever been tech savvy.
