I'm kind of with you on this, like it's the sort of film that looked as though it could be right up my alley(lady gets crazy-awesome super-powers) but as soon as the 'we only use 10% of our brains' BS cropped up I was like 'nope'. I don't know why it's such a deal-breaker for me, especially because I'll let other stupid things slide in movies, but it's just something that bothers me to no end.

Because it's patently, provably false, and yet a significant number of people still use it to sell their new-age garbage? That's why it makes me want to hurt people, anyway.

Hmmmm, that could be it for me too. But I still find it odd that if they had gone with something like alien blood or funky science serum I'd be able to roll with it, even though they're just as silly.

It's less of an issue of "Is this silly?" and more an issue of "Can a ten year old disprove this by spending thirty seconds on the internet?"

At least that seems to be what people are saying.

Everyone knows they're silly though.

I feel the same way about it.

The whole 'only use 10% of our brains' myth would be harmless, if only it weren't used so cynically and so often to part fools from their money.

I'm relieved so many people on this thread know what rubbish it is.

Although I didn't know that using 100% of the brain only happens during grand mal, and I've got epilepsy myself.
