(So far I'm only watching Free! Eternal Summer, which is ridiculous but beautiful and exactly what I need and want. I'm open to watching other series but right now I have a lot of other things I need to finish, so...might not happen TOO soon. Does anyone have a list of the summer anime?)

Yes! Free! is one of the few anime I've watched in the last couple years. I do want to watch more anime, but I made sure to watch free! because I knew it was going to be silly, pretty, feel-good fun and it's lived up to that. It is delightful; I laugh every episode.

I might actually be enjoying this season more than last, but it's almost too close to call; they're both so good.

I used to watch a ton of anime years ago but Free! really brought me back into it. It's such a feel-good anime but I still manage to get super tense during races (the relay with Sousuke and Haru, aaaahhhh). And I really like where it's going in terms of thinking about the future and not really being prepared for that, you know? It's a silly, fanservice-y anime but it has heart. ;3;

I think I'm enjoying this season more than the last, probably because of the new characters that have shown up and Ai getting more screen time and ah, I just love everything this anime chooses to be. ;3; I'm watching other shows right now but Free! is definitely my favorite.

I totally know how you feel about the races; I'm not into sports IRL but in this show I want nothing more than the group to win their races. It's nerve-wracking, haha. (Ugh, Sousuke is SUCH a dick. Then again so was Rin last season... maybe he'll pull the stick out of his ass by the end of the season. I hope so, because his and Rin's relationship is cute.) And I liked the bits about the boys talking about their future and their teacher encouraging Haru to think it over. I didn't expect that storyline at ALL (mostly because I forgot how old the characters were, ahaha) so it was a nice surprise to see something so serious brought into the anime in a natural way; so far I like how it's handled it.

IIRC you aren't a big shipper, but nothing will ever convince me that Ai isn't gay. His reaction to Sousuke made me chuckle.

I love it too! I'm going to be sad when the season is over because I don't have a lot of feel-good television to watch. It's a shame.

Sousuke comes off as the jealous, overprotective boyfriend, hahaha. He saw the relay last season, when Rin couldn't even pull himself out of the water and then ended up swimming for Iwatobi so his feelings towards Haru aren't so great. ;3;

And whoa, haha, I am a huge shipper! Always have been. I ship everything in this show. I've only drawn MakoHaru art so far (my art tag, NSFW) but I'm working on MakoRin and SousukeRin art right now And ita, Ai was checking Sousuke out pretty shamelessly. I could get behind that ship, if only because heeey size difference kink.

As soon as I wrote that I didn't think you were a huge shipper about five instances where that was definitely not the case popped into my head and I said, "You're an idiot, self." I mean, you're way into Scott/Stiles and we both talk about TW regularly here so IDK how I momentarily forgot that. Oh, me... Sorry about that!

Yea, same. I look forward to seeing what decisions they come to. Especially Haru, as he's the most reluctant and dead set on ignoring it.

Awww, fireman!Mako/merman!Haru is adorable. I haven't read but a couple of fics in this fandom, but I could dig so many AU's. MakoHaru is my favorite ship but I could get behind SousukeRin, I think.) I don't bother with TW fandom much. I used to read lots of fic, but other than reblogging the occasional post I haven't been paying much attention this season.

Ooo, I haven't seen this fanart you speak of, but it sounds wonderful! TY for reminding me that I need to look into Free! fandom. And yea, I had the same thought re: Haru and his trouble with people. They focus on him almost to an obsessive extent, and it gets him into trouble.

That's incredibly sweet of you! If it isn't too much trouble I would love some MakoHaru recs! If you have any Nagisa/Rei I would also be open to that. (I do kind of want Aii/someone this season, though. IDK if he was shipped much last season, but I hope he gets some play this season. He's growing on me.)

I haven't read a lot of Nagisa/Rei, although I may have some links to share when I get home. :\a A lot of the fics below have background Nagisa/Rei though! I think that's a ship that people kind of accept as canon, so it's in the background of everything (unless one of the two are being shipped with someone else, obviously!). XD

Watched Terror in Resonance yesterday and yeah, the soundtrack is great. I really liked the atmosphere of the first episode. Considering the show's pedigree, I'll be sad if it doesn't turn out to be great.

I'm really liking the summer season so far. My unexpected pleasant surprise of the season so far is actually Bakumatsu Rock. It's completely ridiculous, the art is cheap and the plot is paper thin, but it's such a big dumb fun show I kinda love it. The singing battle in episode two killed me. As long as it never attempts to be anything but a stupid bishounen show I will continue to watch. Biggest letdown is probably Aldnoah.Zero, I usually like Urobuchi shows but I found the first episode decidedly meh. It gets a couple more episodes to pick up or it's getting dropped.

That one sentence has basically convinced me I need to watch this.

It basically involves a Japanese boyband-off between Ryoma Sakamoto and the Shinsegumi. And then the Magical Macguffin activates and everybody's shirts fly off. I couldn't stop laughing.

This is quite possibly one of the most random things I've ever heard, and it is brilliant.

I watched the first episode of Bakumatsu Rock and it was all kinds of WHAT DID I JUST WATCH. It's so incredibly cringeworthy but at the same time kind of entertaining and what the hell??!

I was kinda on the fence after the first episode because it really is not a very good show, but I smiled like an idiot through the entire second episode. It's just so fun and stupid.

Maybe I should watch the second episode, then, because I decided the first one was more cringeworthy than entertaining to keep watching X'D
