I remember when I used to watch Supernatural that they really had a lot of endless gay jokes involving the brothers, and especially involving Dean, and eventually Castiel and Dean ("Cas, get out of my ass!"). As aggravating as it is that some people are delusional about the sincerity behind those jokes, the show kind of brought it on itself by trying to have lots of giggles about how gay everything is and then not wanting to commit to actually providing the gay, if not in Dean, then in...anyone other than bit characters. I'm getting a bit of schadenfreude how much drama has resulted from all those cheap jabs.

It annoys me that the OP and so many people in the comments think the viewers are the villains in this scenario and not writers who use queerness as a joke.
