I don't even think of it as their "private lives" because big name celebrities often have a lot more of their privates lives in the public than most people do, but it's more an issue that there's quite a few famous Scientologists who manage to keep their religious beliefs a lot more private than he does. Put that together with the over-all distrust Scientology gets and a alot of people can't get past it to enjoy the movies on their own terms.

People do the same with other celebrities who have something bad come out in the open as well, whether it be violence, shitty attitudes or a terrible track record with relationships. People get judgmental at celebs.
