I agree with screencapping it all.

OP, I don't think you're pathetic. People have been put in jail for making death threats, and some of them had the attitude that it wasn't serious because it was "only the internet". They found out they were wrong when the police turned up on their freaking doorstep.

I hope your therapy helps you.

This, I know this particular incident happened years ago but if this ever happens, screencap everything. Death threats are not a game, and people who treat them like a game need to be called on their crap.

Like other commenters have mentioned, make sure at least one other (trusted) person knows what's going on. People who make threats of any sort can only operate with the relative anonymity of private conversations and their victim's feelings of fear and guilt to prevent them from speaking up. If nobody else knows, they're free to keep doing this kind of thing, and they DO keep doing it. The more people who know what they've done, the less of a chance they have to make such threats to begin with, and their chance of following through with it is even lower.

I hope you can work through the anxiety. Anxiety issues are no fun and situations like this one don't help.

Adding onto this. Screencap and call the cops. What have you got to lose? Death threats are serious shit.
