in social media stuff? Like I hadn't even heard of this Dashcon thing until just now, but I use tumblr all the time. And now there's some "twitter purge" thing people are talking about and I have no effin clue what that is either. Does anyone else feel like they use social media but are still always a step or two... or a mile... behind?

ayrt Idk what it is but it's trending on twitter. I clicked it to see and it's just people saying "if you're doing the twitter purge I'm unfollowing you!"

Oh, I googled a bit, and I'm still pretty lost but I think it is something to do with the new instalment of The Purge movie franchise. Some sort of attempt to force a viral marketing event.

Yes, but I wouldn't feel too bad about it. I find I'm more in the loop when I'm frequenting places like Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, Buzzfeed, etc. and therefore also wasting stupid amounts of time. So, the trade off isn't really all that great.
