Once everything was baked and ready to assemble, I don't think it took too terribly long -- I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist. I crumb-coated it first and put it in the fridge for 20-30 minutes, and then frosted and decorated it, which maybe took a little more than half an hour because I'm obsessive about leveling and getting the sides perfect.

(For anyone who doesn't spend half their life on baking blogs like I do, a crumb-coat is a thin layer of frosting applied to a cake to seal in loose crumbs and create a smooth surface before the "real" layer of frosting is applied. It's not meant to look nice, because it's going to be frosted over again later. The cake is then refrigerated to firm up the crumb coat, and then it's ready to frost for real.)
