You'd have more of a point about them being cautious, if Toei wasn't known for being cheap and if the current merchandise wasn't selling like hotcakes. So I don't think they're being cautious, they're just doing what they always do.

Which is disappointing, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I was never super invested in this reboot to begin with.
