Hmm, I think it's difficult. But then, I don't always feel friendships need to be tit for tat. Don't get me wrong, friendships shouldn't be imbalanced in the grand scheme of things...but, I don't think that just because beta someone, they need to do it back. Different people have different strengths (and hey, maybe you even like beta'ing, while they might not?).

My point it, a favor doesn't have to be paid back by the exact same favor. For example, I'm not a great cook, and I'm really grateful if people cook for me - but I'd prefer to repay that with a kindness that is not cooking though.
