I think dropping them as friends completely would be a bit drastic. Here's a novel idea: tell them what's bothering you and why it bothers you. Then maybe you can get into a conversation about it and resolve your issues.

Not all writers are good betas and vice versa. It might be in your best interest to find a beta elsewhere.

This. Are you letting them know what kind of feedback you're looking for? the sorts of issues you want them looking out for? It's possible that they might just need to learn how to be a beta and then could become really helpful.
