It is Draco/Hermione, Snape/hermione, and Harry/Snape for me (Neville/Snape would be one too if people actually shipped that). There are things I don't ship, but the things that are huge no buttons are ships where one is prejudiced against the other and ships where one previously bullied the other. Big no.

OMG

"Neville/Snape" I have a story about that one.

On a Harry Potter forum I went to I saw a "Can't Stand" thread for that and, astonished that it was even a thing I commented "some people will ship anything I guess". I got a fucking mod warning for being mean to shippers. Might I add this is the same forum where normally the rules forbid defending the thing and some people have gong from "venting" about interview canon to bashing on JKR as a person.

So yeah...call JKR a tramp and a slut or whatever but don't your DARE even make a joke about shippers. That would be meeeean . Freaking Fiction Alley.

OMG. That says it all about how stupid some fans are. "Ships" are untouchable yet JKR can be smeared with abandon. So many nutters in this fandom. Like, I get loving your particular ship, I read one-offs all the time but defending it, getting weird and defensive about it, getting argumentative that JKR should've written it that way? Creepy.

Yeah

Also the level of misogynistic hate I saw for Ginny and Molly was downright disturbing. Just ugh. Then when I saw people calling the epilogue kids "crotchdroppings" and I was just like "ew". I get people not liking the epilogue but they were just disturbing about it.

And after the bashing of JKR after the interview canon thing I left shortly after. Like some of the reactions to fairly innocent things like "Neville married Hannah and she took over at the Leaky Cauldron" go ridiculous reactions that were like "OMG my childhood is ruined forever" or "she's probably going to reveal that Neville was a wife beating gambling alcoholic next" or some crazy shit. I was just so confused.

What's the big deal about Neville being a professor and being married to the lady who runs the Leaky Cauldron?

Like the only really big thing that bothered me in the Epilogue was the whole "Albus Severus" naming thing. But other than that...*shrug*

So many drama queens there.

Don't like it, but it doesn't feel on the same level. Draco was a bully to Harry, but not in the same racist way he was to Hermione and Harry always stood up to him and was frankly the 1000% stronger of the two. So it doesn't hit the same buttons for me.

There actually is Neville/Snape fic (I've read it!), but it's not a huge ship.

I'm super into antagonistic relationships (enemies to friends to lovers) so I don't know why I can't ship Draco/Hermione. I ship way worse stuff. Could just be that fic I've read for this ship was boring. I mean, I've read Hermione/Tom Riddle that I've liked.

I can't even imagine it either, but I think in my case it's purely shallow, I think poor Tom Felton got homelier as the years went on and ended up looking like an albino ferret, in addition to the character being a hateful little weasel. (He did look worse in character than in real life.) He was an unpleasant personality and wasn't even hot!

I have a weakness for Hermione/Tom Riddle.

Most of the time when the Snape/whoever fics don't work for me it's because the relationships aren't as fucked up as he would make them and it ruins it for me. Most of my ships are either really fluffy or really fucked up and I hate when people take something that I feel like should be the latter and act like it's the former.
