I've been having the same experience with a friend, but with original stories. I've been helping her with character and world building for years, and I enjoy her series, but whenever I try to talk about my ideas she seems uninterested and doesn't give feedback either way.

The advice I've gotten is to be straightforward and talk to her about it, which I haven't done, but maybe it would help. Don't go into it on the attack, of course, but do bring it up if you think they'd take it well.
