I completely agree. I'm sick of saying I don't like tattoos and having a group of tattoo enthusiasts bombard me with stories about why their tattoos are special and I should like them. I don't care that the butterfly on your shoulder is for your deceased grandmother. I still don't think it's attractive and the tattoo itself is overused and boring.

(For the record, I would never tell a person what I personally thought of their tattoo to their face, but I'm not going to lie and say I like tattoos.)

Agreed. I don't understand the point of putting a permanent mark on your body as a way of remembering something, either. Are you afraid that you're going to forget your deceased grandmother without that butterfly tattoo? Why do you need a tattoo to remind you that something was inspiring or meaningful? I mean, I have a stuffed rabbit that used to belong to my grandmother, but it isn't as if I'd suddenly forget about how much she meant to me without that rabbit.

If something is really that important to you, you'll think about it anyway, tattoo or not.
