okay i have to assume that's a joke. a poorly-timed one, given that they had just cancelled a major portion of the con, but surely that's a joke. NO ONE could be so ridiculous in real life

Why should they relax? They paid extra money to see something that didn't happen, and they were compensated with...a joke. That wouldn't at least annoy you?

I think it was an attempt at a joke. But it was a damn insulting one. People paid EXTRA for that Night Vale Panel. THERE WERE NO REFUNDS.

But hey, they were compensated. With an extra hour in the ball pit!

Oh, IA, it was in poor taste for them to try to laugh off WTNV getting cancelled with no refunds for the panel. But the ball pit does not seem like it was serious.

ayrt- I thought it was a joke as well, but it came from the Dashcon officials directly and given how badly so many things were handled, I don't feel solid assuming that it wasn't extremely poor judgment and/or stupidity. At any rate, if you'd just paid out extra money for a panel that didn't happen thanks to the con staff's incompetence, I think I'd be pissed about the remark, joke or no joke.
