Eh. I can see an unrequited infatuation on Draco's part (especially at the Yule Ball scene). But they never had a shot at becoming canon. And honestly, they're better off fanon than as canon considering how poorly Draco treated Hermione and her friends. There's no happily ever after there. Only potential for exciting fanfics.

Hermione/Krum should have been canon to be quite honest.

Hermione/Krum was the absolute best. I'm still bitter about it.

Krum and Hermione were adorable but reading about them together kind of sucked because you just knew there was no way Rowling would have them be endgame. It's still one of my favorite canon HP ships though even if it was very brief. I was glad that Krum at least got a shout out in the recent thing Rowling did over the Quidditch Cup though

Yes on all counts. Draco/Hermione is my OTP, but I would have been very frustrated had it gone that way in canon. Just, no. As for Viktor/Hermione, I cannot agree enough. ♥ It's also one of my favorite Hermione pairings; I just loved them so much, and I thought they could have been so good together.

That scene where she's teaching him how to correctly pronounce her name always made me smile. :D

hmm. Hermione/Krum was...okay, but I didn't find it very engaging. It felt fairly one-sided and dull.

+100 I liked Hermione/Krum for what it gave her, some relationship experience with a polite guy who took initiative. It was cute while it lasted. But I don't think Hermione every like liked him. I think her interest was based in flattery, and more power to her for basking in it and being a princess for a day. It also seemed like she was interested in the cross-cultural sharing they did. But like you said it felt one-sided, even in GOF I couldn't see Hermione ever falling for Krum. I doubt his fame and career would have made things better for them as a couple.

I highly doubt that since Hermione mentioned in HBP about how Krum and her had a lot of makeout sessions (something that Ron got upset over finding out about which motivated him to kiss Lavender). Hermione also blushed quite a bit during the Yule Ball and seemed to always appreciate Krum's presence. While the romance between Hermione and Krum might have fizzled out, it definitely wasn't one-sided.

Wait, I thought it was Ginny taunting Ron by saying Hermione probably snogged Krum, not Hermione saying it.

I could be mis-remembering. It's been a while since I've read any of the books.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-16 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hermione said it too. It's alright though, HBP came out a while ago so it's not uncommon to forget details like this. Especially about a minor ship people don't really care about in the first place.

IIRC, it was only mentioned that Hermione snogged him at some point another. For all we know, it could have been once or twice. I figure whatever their relationship was is left up to interpretation.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-16 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
If we go by that logic, for all we know, Ginny could have had sex with her previous boyfriends before Harry, Angelina could be imagining she's with Fred even after she married George, and Arthur could be emotionally abused by his wife instead of just being nagged.

There's a lot of outrageous things people can "interpret" in a relationship if they take things out of context. If you go by just the text, however, it makes it a lot more simple to understand that they snogged and were in a mutually satisfied relationship.

This is a pretty good explanation.
