Talk to them about it. Whether they're being selfish or they just aren't good at betaing, if their efforts or lack of the same keep making you unhappy, maybe beta less for them, or at least not every time they ask or for fandoms you don't share? Just set up boundaries, you don't have to shut them down entirely to not be available on demand, since that might eventually breed resentment. Even when you know your friends mean well and just aren't any good at giving back the same thing that you give, it's still a sucky feeling.

There's always the tiniest possibility that they don't put much effort into betaing because they think you don't expect it (people can be amazing that way). Which is why you need to bring it up.
